The spark plugs for the 20kW automatic standby generator are located below the valve covers on each side of the engine; one spark plug is towards the front of the enclosure, while the other is at the rear.
The spark plug wire on the Guardian Series automatic standby generators can be removed without any tools, and only requires to be grasped firmly, and pulled out at the angle in which it is installed. The spark plug itself will need to be removed using a socket wrench; utilizing a shorter handled socket wrench, and placing the socket onto the spark plug first, and then attaching the socket to the handle, will allow for easier access of the rear spark plug. In the event that a better angle is desired, the lid of the generator can be removed to allow servicing from behind the unit. If any additional assistance or maintenance is required, we would recommend contacting a certified servicing dealer.
