Manuals can be found on http://www.generac.com/Service/Manu... by entering in your seven-digit model number. Be sure to enter in your model number starting with two or three zeros without any dashes or spaces. For example, Model 5989-0 should be entered as 0059890. Then click on the manual with part number 0H9700.

The 2700PSI power washer is built at our manufacturing facility in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The engines we use on our power washers are manufactured to our specifications by a partner overseas.

Because there are many elements that can affect the overall life expectancy, our pumps are not rated by hours of use. The axial cam pump on the 2700PSI power washer is designed for intermittent home use. If taken care of properly, you should be able to get many years of use from it. There are many of Generac power washers produced more than 10 years ago with axial cam pumps that are still in service.

answer 2
Currently Generac does not offer an extension to the high pressure hose provided with the power washer. If a longer high pressure hose is necessary, the hose should have a diameter of 3/8” to ensure proper water flow as damage done to the unit from using an improperly sized hose will void the factory warranty. The hoses that come with the units are ¼” diameter, but when lengthening the hose you will have a need for more pressure, so if you increase the hose size, you increase the amount of water flowing through, allowing a longer hose to be usable for this unit. At this time we do not have a recommendation for a maximum length of the high pressure hose.

The power washers should never be run without having the appropriate water supplied to the pump. Attempting to start or run the power washer without providing an adequate water supply could cause permanent damage to the pump. Damage due to misuse is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

You should use a soap made for pressure washers, liquid auto soap is fine, just make sure the soap is not an acid based soap as it could damage the pump. Always make sure to put the pickup tube in clean water and flush the system after each use.

Our power washers will either come with a single detergent tank, two tanks, or our Professional models do not come with any detergent tanks. We do not recommend any modifications to the unit. If additional detergent is needed for a particular application, the siphon hose can be submerged into an external container. You will want to ensure that the detergent siphon hose is properly submerged in the detergent container being used.

answer 1
When utilizing a power washer, we require a minimum of 10 feet of unrestricted garden hose for proper water supply, and a maximum of 50 feet. Any hose longer than 50 feet will allow too large of a pressure drop to properly supply the pump with water. This decrease in water pressure can damage the pump on the power washer. Any damage done to the pressure washer due to using an improperly sized hose will void the unit’s warranty.

The 2700psi Power Washer will be suitable for tasks such as washing a car if the proper nozzle is used. The nozzle recommended for gentle cleaning of cars/trucks, boats, RV’s, patio furniture, lawn equipment, etc., would be the white low pressure nozzle. Using any other nozzle may produce a stream of water strong enough to damage surfaces. Always ensure you are aiming the wand in a safe direction, as the high pressure stream of water this equipment produces can cut through skin and its underlying tissues, which could lead to serious injury. Further information on the nozzles included and their suggested uses can be found in your owner’s manual. When transporting the unit, it should be kept in the upright position. The handle on the unit can be removed when transporting the unit. Laying the unit on its side could cause oil to enter other critical engine parts or fuel lines, which could cause permanent damage to the unit. If it is still physically not possible to transport the unit upright, all liquids should be drained from the unit before leaning on its side to prevent any damage to the engine. Damage to the unit from improper storage or handling may void the factory warranty.

Question

What is the proper oil level for my 2700?

The manual says to be careful to not overfill with oil. My dipstick only has a letter "H" at the very top of the dipstick and the letter "L" at the bottom. I'm assuming "H" represents high and "L" represents low. Do I fill to the "H" or somewhere in between.

The 2700psi Power Washer will have an oil capacity of 20 ounces (0.6 liters). The “H” on the dipstick is the high (full) mark. When adding oil, it should be added to the “H” marking. When the oil level reaches the “L” mark, that means the oil level is low, and oil should be added.

The 3000 psi and 2700psi Power Washers would both be suitable for tasks such as cleaning siding and washing a car if the proper nozzles are used. The 3000psi Power Washer may be more suitable for cleaning a second story, due to its increased size.
